(Worthy News) – The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) passed more resolutions against Israel than it passed against all other countries put together in 2022, the Times of Israel (TOI) reports.

UNGA has passed 140 resolutions condemning Israel over its management of the Israel-Palestinian conflict since 2015, compared to 68 resolutions against all other countries – many of whom have appalling human rights records – in the same time period, TOI reports.

Consolidating the long-term perception of UNGA bias against Israel, last year, the 193-state assembly passed 15 resolutions criticizing the Jewish state and a total of 13 resolutions against all other countries combined, the Hill reports.

In its most recent condemnation of Israel, on Friday, UNGA voted to ask the International Court of Justice to give an urgent opinion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Hill reports. Promoted by the Palestinians and titled “Israeli practices and settlement activities affecting the rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied territories,” the resolution calls on the ICJ to “render urgently an advisory opinion” on Israel’s “prolonged occupation, settlement and annexation of Palestinian territory.”

Friday’s resolution passed by a vote of 87 in favor (including China, Ireland, and South Africa), 26 against (including the US, the UK, and Germany), with 53 abstentions (including France, India, and New Zealand).

Six of the resolutions not focused on Israel were directed toward Russia in condemnation of its invasion of Ukraine.

Despite having shockingly bad and widely publicized human rights records, North Korea, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Syria, and Iran were the subject of one negative resolution each.

Saudi Arabia, China, Lebanon, Turkey, Venezuela, and Qatar had no resolution passed against them at all, despite their bad human rights records, the Hill reports. No condemnation was made of Nigeria’s inaction in the face of the ongoing slaughter of Christians by Islamic jihadists there.
