(Worthy News) – A new study shows that Christian colleges in the United States have increased their support for abortion and for the major abortion provider Planned Parenthood by 10% since 2021, the Christian Post reports.

The study was conducted by Students for Life of the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement, which surveyed 767 colleges and universities affiliated with Christian churches between Nov. 1 and 30 this year, CP reports. Notably, the results of the study follow last year’s US Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization to revoke the previously bestowed federal right to abortion and make the termination of pregnancy an issue for individual states to decide.

The survey found that 76 of the colleges surveyed had ties to Planned Parenthood or supported abortion, CP reports. These colleges were found to have a combined total of 185 “infractions.”

An “infraction” is defined in the study as an action by a college official which supports abortion, including publicizing Planned Parenthood as a health resource, CP reports. Around 45% of all infractions consisted of listing Planned Parenthood as a health resource. The second most common infraction was listing Planned Parenthood as a school-accredited internship opportunity within the last two academic years.

Methodist colleges were found to have 22% of the total infractions, followed by Presbyterian schools (20%), Catholic schools (18%), and Lutheran schools (16%), CP reports.
