Amid Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas in Gaza, and threats from Hezbollah on its northern border with Lebanon, on Wednesday the Israel Air Force intercepted a cruise missile heading toward the southern Israeli city of Eilat on the Red Sea, the Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) reports. The missile did not enter Israeli territory, the IAF said.
Israel strengthened its defense against an Iranian missile onslaught with the transfer on Wednesday of Arrow-3 interceptors from the Israel Missile Defense Organization to the Israel Air Force.
Israel’s upgraded ballistic missile shield became operational on Wednesday, in a “Star Wars”-like extension of its capabilities to outer space where incoming missiles can be safely destroyed.
