(Worthy News) – After meeting with US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced ongoing negotiations for a new deal to freeing all the hostages and secure a ceasefire in Gaza, dismantling Hamas, and endorsing Trump’s evacuation plan for Gazan reconstruction.

In the Oval Office, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters, “We’re working now on another deal that we hope will succeed, and we’re committed to getting all the hostages out.” He added, “the hostages are in agony, and we want to get them all out.”

Trump remarked, “the Israeli people want the hostages out. More than anything, they want the hostages out. This man is working very hard with us to do that. I don’t know, I hope he’s being appreciated because he’s been a great leader. He’s working very, very hard on the hostages and many other things… It’s a tough place in the world.” Netanyahu interjected, “I have a good partner.” Trump responded, “You do have a good partner, and so do we.”

Trump predicted an end to the Gaza conflict soon, stating, “I’d like to see the war stop, and I think the war will stop at some point that won’t be in the too distant future. Right now, we have a problem with hostages. We’re trying to get the hostages out…. It’s a long process. It shouldn’t be that long.”

Netanyahu mentioned discussing Trump’s “bold” vision to relocate displaced Palestinians from Gaza during its redevelopment with the US president.

Netanyahu denied that Gazans are being “locked” in the Strip and unable to leave despite it being a conflict zone, stating, “We didn’t lock them in,” and “We are not holding them in.” He drew a comparison to conflicts in Ukraine and Syria, where people were allowed to flee the fighting.

Netanyahu mentioned ongoing positive discussions with other countries willing to accept Gazans, however he declined to name the nations involved.

Trump reiterated his earlier suggestion that it would be beneficial for the United States to “control and own” the Gaza Strip.

“Having a force like the United States there, controlling and owning the Gaza Strip would be a good thing,” Trump said, revisiting a proposal he had introduced several times in the early days of his administration.

However, while Trump says that while people appreciate the vision laid out in his Gaza plan, “there are other concepts too.” He criticized Israel’s 2005 disengagement from the Strip, stating, “Gaza should never have been given away by Israel, I don’t know why they did it.” He added, “I do know, because they were promised peace, but that did not work out. Gaza is a dangerous death trap.”
