Trump Draws Red Line on Iran Nuclear Deal: “No Uranium Enrichment” Allowed Under Potential Agreement

by Emmitt Barry, with reporting from the Washington D.C. Bureau Staff
WASHINGTON D.C. (Worthy News) – President Donald Trump declared Monday that any future U.S. agreement with Iran “will not allow any enrichment of uranium,” drawing a sharp contrast with a newly reported diplomatic proposal said to permit limited enrichment within the Islamic Republic.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated emphatically, “Under our potential Agreement — WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY ENRICHMENT OF URANIUM!” The comment came just hours after reports surfaced that a U.S.-backed proposal presented to Tehran through Omani mediation would allow Iran to maintain low-level uranium enrichment for civilian purposes, such as nuclear medicine and energy production.
The White House declined to elaborate on Trump’s statement, though Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a carefully worded response: “President Trump has made it clear that Iran can never obtain a nuclear bomb. Special Envoy Witkoff has sent a detailed and acceptable proposal to the Iranian regime, and it’s in their best interest to accept it.”
According to Axios, the proposal allows Iran to continue enrichment to a level of up to 3 percent — well below weapons-grade — provided it agrees to shut down and mothball its underground enrichment sites. It would also forbid new enrichment facilities, dismantle advanced centrifuge infrastructure, and suspend research and development beyond civilian needs.
The plan reportedly includes the eventual creation of a regional enrichment consortium — a concept once floated during the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) but dropped due to opposition from Gulf Arab states and Iran’s own suspicions.
Critics of the approach, especially from within the conservative and pro-Israel communities, are highlighting the discrepancy between Trump’s public stance and the terms of the reported deal. Dan Shapiro, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel under President Obama, noted pointedly on X, “This proposal poses a moment of truth for critics of previous Iran nuclear negotiations… Will they hold Trump to the same standard?”
Lead U.S. negotiator Steve Witkoff has previously echoed Israel’s insistence that Iran cease all enrichment activities. Yet both he and Trump have offered mixed signals in public, at times hinting that low-level enrichment might be tolerated under strict conditions.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have already signaled their rejection of the U.S. proposal, calling it a “non-starter” that fails to ease pressure on Tehran or recognize its enrichment rights. Iran has continued to ramp up enrichment efforts in recent months, stockpiling uranium enriched to near-weapons-grade levels. A recent International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report confirmed Iran now holds over 100 kg of uranium enriched to 60%, just short of the 90% threshold needed for nuclear weapons.
The Trump administration’s apparent flexibility behind the scenes has alarmed Israeli officials. According to The Wall Street Journal, they fear the U.S. may ultimately abandon its zero-enrichment demand to avoid a collapse in talks.
Despite assurances of peaceful intent, Iran continues to block international inspectors from several key nuclear sites, has advanced its ballistic missile program, and has openly threatened Israel. Israeli leaders have reiterated that they will act unilaterally if necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons — but are unlikely to strike while diplomacy is active.
PROPHECTICAL SIGNIFICANCE
We’re approaching a significant historical milestone: the anniversary of Israel’s daring 1981 airstrike on Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor, known as Operation Opera or Operation Babylon, carried out on June 7, 1981. Remarkably, this date closely aligns with another monumental event in Israeli history — the liberation of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War, which began on June 5, 1967, and saw Israeli forces recapture the Old City by June 7.
For many prophecy watchers, this convergence of dates is more than a historical coincidence — it is prophetic in nature. In biblical patterns, anniversaries often mark moments of divine intervention or turning points. Just as Israel acted preemptively in 1981 to prevent a hostile regime from acquiring nuclear weapons, and in 1967 reclaimed its ancient capital, some believe the first week of June could again hold significance for Israel and the region.
With tensions escalating across the Middle East — from Iran’s expanding nuclear program to increasing hostility on Israel’s northern and southern borders — many are watching this timeframe closely. The alignment of past military victories and preventative actions with the current geopolitical climate is prompting renewed discussion about divine patterns, national destiny, and prophetic fulfillment.
