Trump Launches ‘Board of Peace’ as $17 Billion Pledged for Gaza, Decision on Iran Looms

WASHINGTON D.C. (Worthy News) – President Donald Trump on Thursday unveiled what he called a historic new diplomatic framework — the “Board of Peace” — during an inaugural meeting at the U.S. Institute of Peace, announcing billions in pledges for Gaza reconstruction and signaling that a major decision on Iran could come within days.
Trump said the Board of Peace would function as a coordinating body to stabilize Gaza following the war between Israel and Hamas, while also “looking over” the United Nations to ensure accountability and financial integrity.
“We’re going to strengthen up the United Nations,” Trump said. “We’re going to make sure it’s viable.”
$7 Billion in International Pledges — $10 Billion From U.S.
According to the president and White House officials, nine member states have pledged more than $7 billion toward a Gaza relief and stabilization package. Trump also committed $10 billion from the United States, calling it “a very small number compared to the cost of war.”
Among the major contributors:
- Qatar pledged over $1 billion
- Saudi Arabia pledged $1 billion over several years
- United Arab Emirates pledged $1.2 billion in addition to nearly $3 billion previously given in humanitarian aid
- Kazakhstan, Morocco, Bahrain, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait also committed significant funds
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said a resolution establishing “financial integrity and transparency” for the board’s work passed unanimously before Trump signed it.
More than 40 countries and the European Union sent representatives to the meeting, though several European nations — including the United Kingdom, France, Norway, Sweden and Slovenia — declined full membership over concerns about the Board’s relationship to the United Nations. Trump nevertheless announced that Norway agreed to host a future Board of Peace event.
International Stabilization Force Taking Shape
Five countries have agreed to contribute troops to an International Stabilization Force (ISF) tasked with helping secure Gaza.
- Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania pledged personnel
- Egypt and Jordan committed to training a Palestinian police force
- Romania offered medical treatment for 4,000 children and their families
Initial deployments are expected near Rafah, with reports suggesting a potentially large stabilization base under consideration.
The Board’s coordinator, Nikolay Mladenov, said the initiative aims to establish a Palestinian security structure “under one authority and one weapon,” independent of Hamas influence.
Trump declared that “the war in Gaza is over,” while acknowledging “little flames” remain. He warned that if Hamas fails to surrender its weapons, it would be “harshly met.”
Iran Decision Expected Within 10 Days
Alongside the Gaza initiative, Trump referenced “good talks” with Iran amid renewed nuclear negotiations and a significant U.S. military buildup in the region.
“Now we may have to take it a step further, or we may not,” Trump said. “You’re going to be finding out over the next, probably, 10 days.”
The remarks come as U.S. air and naval assets have increased near Iran, signaling that diplomatic efforts are backed by credible force.
A Shift in U.S. Global Strategy
The Board of Peace emerged between ceasefire negotiations last fall and the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire announced in January. Observers note that the initiative reflects a broader restructuring of U.S. foreign policy under Trump’s leadership — emphasizing coalition-building beyond traditional European power centers.
Several Middle Eastern and Central Asian nations strongly endorsed the plan, while European capitals expressed caution.
“This is one of the most important and consequential things I’ve been involved in,” Trump said, gaveling the nearly two-and-a-half-hour meeting to a close. “We will help Gaza. We will straighten it out. We will make it successful. We will make it peaceful.”
Whether the Board of Peace can deliver lasting stability in Gaza now becomes the first major test of this emerging diplomatic architecture.
“Hamas Shall No Longer Be Heard in Your Land” — The Prophetic Promise of Isaiah 61 (Prophecy Commentary – Worthy News)
When Isaiah looked forward to Israel’s restoration, he saw more than just a nation rebuilt — he saw a land utterly transformed. In Isaiah 60:18, the prophet declared, “Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, devastation nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.” In Hebrew, the word translated “violence” is חָמָס (ḥamas) — the same word that today identifies the terror organization sworn to Israel’s destruction.
This is no coincidence. The Spirit of God used that ancient word to describe the very thing Israel faces in our day — a spirit of violence and lawlessness that opposes God’s covenant people. Yet through Isaiah, the Lord promised that a time is coming when ḥamas — violence itself — will be silenced in the land of Israel.
Prophetically, this points to the day when the Messiah, the Anointed One of Isaiah 61, will complete His redemptive work for Zion (Jerusalem). It is the day when “the Spirit of the Lord GOD” brings true comfort to Jerusalem, when mourning is turned into joy, and when “they shall rebuild the old ruins” (Isaiah 61:4). The eradication of Hamas from Israel is not only a military victory — it is a divine act of renewal, a War of Revival in the truest sense, leading toward the Messianic age of peace.
The same God who once judged the earth in Noah’s day because it was filled with ḥamas (Genesis 6:11) will again remove it from His covenant land. When that day comes, the word Hamas — and everything it represents — will vanish from Israel’s borders. The people will dwell securely, the walls will be called Salvation (Yeshua), and the gates Praise (Tehillah).
The promise remains sure: there is coming a day when Hamas — both the word and the violence — will no longer be heard in the land.
