(Worthy News) – Israel faced an intensified wave of attacks Tuesday as Iran and Hezbollah launched what analysts describe as a coordinated barrage of missiles and drones, including cluster munitions, on the 11th day of Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion.

Security experts say the synchronized strikes suggest Hezbollah has now fully joined the regional conflict alongside Iran, raising fears of a broader escalation across the Middle East.

Kobi Michael, a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies and the Misgav Institute told Fox News that the attacks appear carefully coordinated between Tehran and the Iran-backed Lebanese terror group.

“Hezbollah has fully joined the war, and it looks like they are now very well coordinated with Iran,” Michael said while speaking from a bomb shelter near Tel Aviv. “Most of Hezbollah’s rockets and drones are launched simultaneously with the Iranian missiles.”

Reports from Israeli officials indicate that roughly half of the ballistic missiles fired by Iran during the current war have contained cluster munition warheads, presenting new challenges for Israel’s layered air defense systems.

Cluster munitions explode at high altitude and scatter dozens of smaller bomblets across wide areas, sometimes spanning up to six miles. While each individual bomblet causes less structural damage than a conventional warhead, their spread makes them far more difficult to intercept and increases the danger to civilians.

At night, the falling bomblets can resemble orange fireballs streaking across the sky before exploding on the ground.

Israeli defense officials say the tactic appears designed to overwhelm interception systems and increase the likelihood of civilian casualties. Two Israelis were killed Monday in the city of Yehud after cluster munitions struck the area.

Cluster munitions are banned by more than 120 countries under the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions because of their wide-area and often indiscriminate impact.

Despite the growing barrage, the Israeli military says it has already dismantled dozens of launch sites.

The Israel Defense Forces reported Tuesday that more than 70 missile launchers prepared to fire on Israeli territory have been destroyed since the start of Operation Roaring Lion.

Officials say the conflict now appears to be entering a more dangerous phase as Iran and its regional proxies coordinate their attacks across multiple fronts.
