(Worthy News) – The U.S. State Department confirmed that Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee is returning to Washington to participate in a second round of ambassador-level talks between Israel and Lebanon set for Thursday.

The negotiations, brokered by the United States, will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and will include key diplomatic figures from both nations. Representing Israel will be Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, while Lebanon will be represented by Ambassador Nada Hamadeh.

The U.S. delegation will also include Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa and senior State Department official Mike Needham.

According to a State Department spokesperson, Huckabee’s visit will also involve routine consultations with department leadership and interagency partners, with discussions focused on broader regional issues.

The talks follow an initial round held last week, as Washington continues efforts to ease tensions and foster dialogue between Jerusalem and Beirut amid ongoing regional uncertainty.
