(Worthy News) – Tensions across the Middle East intensified Monday as Iran launched a new wave of missile and drone attacks against the United Arab Emirates, striking critical infrastructure and further straining a fragile cease-fire.

Officials in the UAE confirmed that a drone strike ignited a fire at the strategic oil port of Fujairah, a vital export hub designed to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. The attack underscores the vulnerability of global energy routes and the growing boldness of Tehran’s military posture.

“We reserve the right to a full and legitimate response to attacks,” the UAE Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

In a major development, CNN reported that an Israeli-operated Iron Dome system successfully intercepted an Iranian missile over UAE territory. The interception marks the first known operational use of Israeli-controlled air defense hardware on foreign soil during an active conflict.

The deployment was reportedly authorized in secret by Benjamin Netanyahu at the onset of the Iran war, reflecting a dramatic shift in regional defense cooperation. What began as diplomatic normalization has now matured into a functioning security alliance.

The UAE has endured relentless aerial assaults in recent months. Government figures indicate that since the war began, the nation has faced approximately 549 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and more than 2,260 drones. These sustained attacks have resulted in over 200 injuries, though most incoming threats have been intercepted.

Monday’s barrage alone included 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and four drones launched directly from Iran. Emirati defense systems successfully neutralized the majority of the threats, with three injuries reported, none considered critical.

In response, the UAE has rapidly strengthened its defensive posture, integrating advanced Israeli systems alongside American-made platforms. This layered defense network now plays a crucial role in shielding civilian populations and key energy infrastructure.

Military cooperation between Israel and the UAE has expanded significantly since the Abraham Accords. The latest developments suggest that alliance is no longer symbolic—it is operational, strategic, and increasingly central to countering Iranian aggression in the region.

The United States has also reaffirmed its support for the UAE, signaling a broader coalition effort to contain Iran’s expanding military reach.

As hostilities continue to intensify, the cease-fire now appears to be on the verge of collapse. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning that Iran could be “blown off the face of the earth” if it targets U.S. vessels operating in the region, a statement that has further heightened tensions and signaled that a broader escalation may be imminent.
