NKorea launches ICBM in possibly its longest-range test yet

breaking world news north korea

(Worthy News) - After 2 ½ months of relative peace, North Korea launched its most powerful weapon yet early Wednesday, a presumed intercontinental ballistic missile that could put Washington and the entire eastern U.S. seaboard within range.

Resuming its torrid testing pace in pursuit of its goal of a viable arsenal of nuclear-tipped missiles that can hit the U.S. mainland had been widely expected, but the apparent power and suddenness of the new test still jolted the Korean Peninsula and Washington. The launch at 3:17 a.m. local time and midday in the U.S. capital indicated an effort to perfect the element of surprise and to obtain maximum attention in the United States.

The firing is a clear message of defiance aimed at the Trump administration, which had just restored the North to a U.S. list of terror sponsors. It also ruins nascent diplomatic efforts, raises fears of war or a pre-emptive U.S. strike and casts a deeper shadow over the security of the Winter Olympics early next year in South Korea. 1. "For such a time as this" we have Donald Trump in Office.

Winston Churchill was voted out of office right after he became the greatest living hero of Great Britain and other countries as well, following WWII.

And yet, History Stories tells us, "Such was the country’s admiration for Churchill that Queen Elizabeth II broke with monarchical tradition to attend a funeral for someone outside of the royal family. Even more unusual, the queen gave precedence to one of her subjects and arrived at the cathedral before the former prime minister’s casket."

Great Britain had to set aside (when Churchill had his first strokes) people secreted in an office to study out the great funerals of great generals, and so it was. Churchill himself chose the US's own Battle Hymn of the Republic to be played for his funeral.

"For such a time as this."

There is a reason Donald Trump is now in office.

Let's pray he does what he already must know needs be done. Pray he is a Churchill for us all. We need it. Presidents are not in Office to keep the other presidents and despots happy with us, though that's nice if we can. He is there to serve and protect the USA. Trump knows that part. If we can serve and protect the rest of humanity, so much so the better. But what man lets his wife and children die while he goes off to save the neighbors instead?

Does not our own God do the same for us? We are not more valuable than others. We are simply His kids.
