(Worthy News) - Russia will get a country-wide biometric database for financial services starting next summer, the central bank said.

The system will expand access to banking by letting people open accounts without having to visit a branch and is a key milestone in digitizing financial services, the Bank of Russia said in a statement. The regulator said that data would only be stored with individuals’ consent. Legal changes needed for the system passed this month.

State-owned Rostelecom PJSC has been selected to run the database, which will collect personal data including images of faces, voice samples and, eventually, irises and fingerprints. Facial-recognition technology has been gaining consumer acceptance around the world, with Apple Inc.’s latest iPhone using it to unlock the device. In Russia, the authorities and government-linked companies are leading the charge. [ Source: Bloomberg (Read More...) ]

  1. Putin has a smile. a special smile, it's clearly on his face often in photos of him shaking hands (meeting with) world leaders. That small smile is all over the Internet in picture after picture after picture.

Meanwhile, all around the globe, in British UK waters, in newly opened US Arctic waters, and skies, in Syria, now with NKorea, Russia has plans which make Putin smile at our leaders, everyone's leaders, no matter what we do.

    This is not good.

It is esp not good for Israel, though I do not doubt Israel's God is able to make a Way for them to withstand whatever it is that makes Russia do whatever it is they are now up to.

It would appear that the current US sanctions on various Russian friends of Putin is working to our best or making Russia suffer anything. Seems much more that it is harming US interests worldwide. Tactics need to be changed.

God's wisdom needs to be sought before the bear tangles with our eagle. Let's make sure the eagle does not get winged to make it too vulnerable.

  2. In the US State of Oregon, when you go to the doctor, a medical lab, the hospital, any of that sort of thing, you can, if you want to, use the option of opting out of having your genetic material used.

Otherwise, it is put into a database with your name attached.

It only takes one time of forgetting to opt-out for the record to be made permanent.

Be aware. Oregon is in the USA.
