(Worthy News) – The Jubilee Campaign has submitted evidence to the International Criminal Court that crimes against Christians in Nigeria constitute genocide.

Besides staggering numbers, such as one statistic from World Watch Monitor that more than 4,000 Christians were killed and almost 200,000 Christian homes destroyed between 2014 and 2016, Jubilee Campaign executive director Ann Buwalda claimed in July that the sprees are systematic and have wealthy donors.

“Now in 2019 alone, Fulani militants have attacked 20 villages. Their target is Christian-majority villages where they kill civilians, burn their homes,” Buwalda said of the Herder ethnic group that has outstripped even Boko Haram in its campaign of bloodshed against Christians.

The Jubilee Campaign marshalled Nigerian Christian witnesses who testified that the predominantly Muslim pastoralists are often armed with expensive assault rifles, have even been seen riding in helicopters, and shout explicitly anti-Christian genocidal slurs during their raids, which western media has said are the result of a competition between sheepherders and farmers for resources.

The religious liberty advocacy group claims that the Fulani have carried out 52 lethal attacks against Christian communities in 2019, one which killed 300 Christian villagers, and another which saw 174 women and children interred in a mass grave.
