(Worthy News) – Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to impeach Donald Trump Friday on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress over a phone call between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump that the American President has referred to as “a perfect phone call.”

The House Judiciary Committee voted 23-17 along strict party lines, with Democrats in favor and Republicans opposing, slating the President to go on trial in a Republican-controlled Senate in January that is expected to roundly defend him.

“We’re dealing with a lot of corrupt people. There was nothing done wrong,” Trump maintained. “To use the power of impeachment on this nonsense is an embarrassment to this country.”

Trump and defenders, echoing Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, has called Democrat-led investigations bolstered by Obama-era CIA informants a “coup” by residual unelected government employees to subvert the popular will of the 2016 elections.
