Brexit looks to be forthcoming with Boris Johnson election victory
(Worthy News) – Prime Minister Boris Johnson coasted to a landslide victory as British election results trickled in overnight, positioning himself to be the man to deliver Brexit on the promised January 31st deadline.
Johnson’s conservative party won 364 seats in the British House of Commons, 38 more seats than it needed for a majority, compared with only 203 seats that Labour garnered in its worst showing since 1935.
The snap elections were a risky move by Johnson, who stepped into the breach to try to deliver the long-delayed Brexit referendum in which Britons voted 52-48 three and a half years ago to leave the EU.
Donald Trump, in the election aftermath, promised a “massive new trade deal after Brexit” between the US and the UK.
