(Worthy News) – The House of Representatives on Wednesday voted 230-197 to impeach President Trump for “abuse of power” over his dealings with Ukraine, and by a vote of 229-198 to impeach him for “obstruction of Congress.”

As House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) read out the result of the first roll call vote, light clapping began, but she made a sharp gesture, apparently signaling to her caucus not to applaud. Again, after reading out the result of the vote on the second article of impeachment, Pelosi raised her hand briefly, to stop any applause.

Trump becomes just the third president in U.S. history to be impeached by the House, after President Andrew Johnson in 1868 and President Bill Clinton in 1998. President Richard Nixon resigned in August 1974, before the House could vote on three articles of impeachment approved earlier by the House Judiciary Committee. [ Source: CNS News (Read More…) ]
