Russia warship comes close to colliding with US ship in Middle East
(Worthy News) – An American Navy ship was approached by a Russian Navy ship in the north Arabian sea last Thursday when the Russian ship made an “aggressive” maneuver, US officials said, Russian officials, responding by pointing the finger at the US.
The USS Farragut sounded five horn blasts during routine operations to warn an incoming Russian ship that Navy Commander Josh Frey said initially ignored the courtesy and proceeded to come within 180 feet of the US vessel.
“While the Russian ship [eventually] took action, the initial delay in complying with international rules while it was making an aggressive approach increased the risk of collision,” Frey said.
Russia, though sanctioning traditional forms of Christianity like Orthodoxy, has been harassing evangelical Protestants under the 2016 Yarovaya laws that placed it on the list of “countries of particular concern” put out by the United States Council for International Religious Freedom the following year.
