Two Nigerian Christian girls killed by Muslim herders

(Worthy News) – Two Nigerian high school-aged Christian girls were killed in southern Kaduna state last week by Fulani herdsmen, an armed Muslim group, ahead of the killing of one of the biggest Christian leaders in Nigeria on Monday by Boko Haram.

Briget Philip and Priscilla David were shot in the village square where they lived, along with three male teenagers who sustained injuries when gunmen opened fire and scattered village residents into the bush.

“It is likely that this attack was conducted to gain supplies or force the locals off of the land to allow for the migration of herders into the area,” International Christian Concern noted. “The Nigerian government continues to turn a blind eye to these attacks, allowing perpetrators to walk free and continue the violence.”

The insurgency of Muslim ethnic Fulani cattle-herders against Christian farmers, aimed at taking their land, “rival[s] that of the Boko Haram insurgency in North-Eart Nigeria,” ICC further claimed.

Muslim Fulani herders killed 450 Christians in Nigeria last year, but 2,000 Christians in 2018, outpacing even Boko Haram, the West African branch of ISIS, in the slaughter of Christians in the unfolding Nigerian genocide.
