Coronavirus causes some US schools to close as State Department issues travel warnings

coronavirus worthy christian news(Worthy News) – Serious measures against the spread of the coronavirus are being applied in multiple states, after falling stocks Monday caused all trading on Wall Street to temporarily cease and the US confirmed 550 cases across 20 states.

The Scarsdale school district in Westchester County, New York closed its schools until March 18th to prevent the spread of the virus after the district reported 82 cases of what is now known as COVID-19.

“We will have to do essentially social distancing, keep people out of crowded places, take a look at seriousness – do people really need to travel – those kinds of things,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. “And I think it is particularly important among the most vulnerable.”

The US State Department issued a warning against Americans taking cruises as 21 people on board the Grand Princess cruise ship off the coast of California contracted the virus.

Correction in the article: confirmed 550 cases, not deaths.
