(Worthy News) – Visitors to the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky can now go back to the time of Noah and the Ark through a new high-tech $3 million virtual reality experience known as the ‘Truth Traveler,’ CBN News reports. Over a million people a year have visited the Ark Encounter, which features a massive stationary ship built according to Bible specifications.

In the first of the new VR experiences, visitors will be taken back 4,500 years to see Noah building the Ark and the animals entering it. They will then experience the impact of the flood and sit in the Ark on the water. They will also see the Ark come to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

Visitors sit in special-effect motion seats that move and interact with the scenes projected through state-of-the-art VR headsets with studio-quality headphones. “I’m excited about this fantastic high-tech VR addition,” Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, which produces the Ark Encounter, told CBN News. “As people have come to expect at the Ark Encounter, the bar of excellence is set extremely high, as it is again with this experience,” Ham said.

The Ark Encounter has emphasized that COVID-19 safety guidelines are being followed and has published a 45-page “COVID-19 Preparedness Plan” on their website.

Additionally, the Ark Encounter will be hosting the largest Christian music festival in the world next year. Called “40 Days and 40 Nights of Gospel Music at the Ark,” this event will take place from August 2 to September 10, 2021 and is expected to attract some 200,000 people to hear from 80 artists and 10 popular speakers, CBN News reports.
