(Worthy News) –
Advocacy groups have reported that around 1,000 girls of Christian and other minority faith groups in Pakistan are being raped by Muslim extremists in purported forced conversions to Islam every year, WND reports.

The British Pakistani Christians (BPC) advocacy group highlighted one of many cases in which legal action is being taken by Christian parents whose six year old girl who was beaten and raped by a Muslim in Pakistan. The local imams threatened the parents that their other daughters would also be raped if they did not drop the charges.

In a statement on the ongoing issue,  Raymond Ibrahim, a senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute, the David Horowitz Freedom Center and the Middle East Forum said recent studies show: “Around 1,000 girls from (Christian and other) religious minorities are forcibly converted to Islam every year. The numbers might [even] be higher as many cases are not even reported.”

According to WND, the “typical pattern” is that of a young Christian girl being assaulted and raped by a Muslim. When confronted, the attacker says the girl converted to Islam and married him. In a report, BPC said: “Violence against Christians is rarely investigated and highly unlikely to be met with justice…Women have a low status in Pakistan, but none more so than Christian women who find themselves under the grip or terror.”

All local Pakistani authorities, including “police, court officials, and Islamic clerics – seem bent on facilitating this human rights tragedy,” Ibrahim said in a statement.

Sometimes the girls are murdered. “The world does nothing,” BPC says.
