(Worthy News) – A senior official in Iran’s Islamist regime has described the recent normalization of ties between Israel and Arab states as a US-Israeli plot against Iran, which will ultimately fail, Jerusalem Online (JOL) reported. Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei made his comments Wednesday at an international conference in Tehran on the decline of America.

Addressing the conference held at the former American embassy in Iran’s capital city, Rezaei asserted that the US lost much of its military power through being defeated in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.

“The US has lost its leadership in many parts of the world, while alternative models such as the Saudi-led proxy wars on Yemen have also gone nowhere,” Rezaei said. Moreover, Rezaei attested: “The recent plot initiated by the US and Israel to unite the Arabs and Israel against Iran will also end in failure.”

Accordingly, Rezaei said, Iran should take advantage of US decline and make progress using new sciences, JOL reported.
Two days prior to the conference, the US hit Iran with fresh sanctions targeting the Iranian oil sector. The newest US sanctions affect Iran’s ministry of petroleum and 10 other entities, two other vessels and eight individuals including the minister of petroleum, the National Iranian Oil Company, and the National Iranian Tanker Company, JOL said.
