(Worthy News) – Israel has a new political party committed solely to tackling what it says are “years of injustices” in the country’s Ministry of Health that have led to the current catastrophic handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, All Israel News reports. Offering policies that contradict the government’s extensive lockdown and other preventive measures, the “Rapeh” (Be Healthy) party is now listed for the March 2021 general election.

Rapeh was founded by Arieh Avni, a medical doctor who is deeply concerned that Israel has spent more time in lockdown than any other country, has decimated its economy, and yet continues to have a high COVID-19 infection rate, AIN reports. Israel has seen 5,000 covid-related deaths in a population of 9 million people.

According to his party literature, Avni’s aim is “to cure the Ministry of Health’s years of injustices that have reached their peak during 2020-2021 and are manifested by unbearable medical coercion and the violation of human rights: lockdown, social distancing, cellular location tracking, the green passport, the wearing of masks, the destruction of the economy and public deception.”

Avni wants to overhaul the health system to focus on preventative treatments, improving the health of the overall population, and strengthening their immune systems, AIN reports. As a medical doctor, Avni believes this would significantly reduce the impact of the pandemic.

While critics have accused Rapeh of downplaying the severity of the virus and of being “anti-vaxxers” and anti-mask, party candidate Ilana Rachel Daniel told Israel National News: “We do not deny that COVID-19 infections exist, we deny that so many people needed to have died from it. After a years’ time and billions upon billions of dollars, the only cures that we have been offered are deadly lockdowns and a risky experimental and novel treatment. We say, the cure is worse than the disease.”
