BEIJING (Worthy News) – Footage appeared to show Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin isn’t losing sleep over a possible war in Ukraine.

While as many as 127,000 Russian troops are gathering near Ukraine’s borders, the Russian leader was seen dozing off during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

He apparently fell asleep while Ukraine’s national team marched through the stadium.

The camera caught him in his chair with his eyes closed as the athletes were introduced and their national anthem reverberated throughout the area.

Putin’s eyes then flitted open.

He was up by the time the Russian Olympic Committee team entered Beijing’s National Stadium, standing to salute him and other prominent guests.

Critics said Putin, who is 69, may have faked the incident to underscore his disdain towards Ukraine, which he views as historically part of Russia.
