Day of Prayer Called for July 29, 2001 (Colombia)

Open Doors with Brother Andrew is urging Christians around the globe to join together for an international day of prayer and fasting for Colombia on July 29, 2001. Colombia is one of the most violent countries in the world. Both Marxist guerrilla and paramilitary organizations have increasingly targeted Christian leaders who are successful in bringing others to Christ as converts typically resist recruitment into these violent groups. Since 1998 an estimated 300 churches have been closed and 52 pastors and leaders have been killed. The Voice of the Martyrs encourages Christians from around the world to join in this special prayer focus on behalf of this needy nation.
