(Worthy News) – As Haiti reels under years of gang-led terror, chronic violent political instability, and poverty, a group of Christian ministers led by Kenya’s first lady Rachel Ruto recently participated in a “marathon” prayer event seeking God’s help for the Caribbean nation and asking His protection for the 2,500 multinational police force Kenya is now leading to support Haitian police.

Established by the office of Rachel Ruto, wife of Kenyan President William Ruto, a committee of Kenyan, Haitian and American ministry leaders spent three days in prayer for Haiti at Nairobi’s Weston Hotel last month. The initiative was organized by the Ruto administration’s Faith and Diplomacy office.

Addressing the gathering on the second day of the event, Mrs Ruto said: “We have come together to say we want to form a prayer strategy, and we would like you to join us in praying for this great country of Haiti because we know the Lord can transform Haiti.”

We have seen what God has done for the nation of Kenya, and we believe God can do the same for nations of the world,” Mrs Ruto asserted.

“We cannot allow our police to go to Haiti without prayer,” Mrs Ruto added. “We had pastors from Haiti and America, and we are seeing how these three countries can come together to pray because we believe with prayer everything is possible.”
