JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – A prominent politician fears Israel will lose its sovereignty if it agrees to adjusted World Health Organization (WHO) rules.

Moshe Feiglin, leader of Israel’s Zehut Party, spoke after Worthy News saw that the U.S. seeks to delete a crucial restriction in the WHO’s International Health Regulations.

The restriction currently says that in health emergencies, the “WHO shall consult with and attempt to obtain verification from the State Party in whose territory the event is allegedly occurring….”

Without that restriction and other amendments, the WHO will have emergency powers over Israel or any other country they choose, Feiglin warned.

Delegates from 194 nations, including Israel, are due to endorse the proposed changes anyway later this month in Geneva, Switzerland.

HIDDEN FROM PUBLIC

U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration initiated the amendments in January but kept them hidden from the public until this month when a vote appeared a foregone conclusion.

If passed, the resolutions will go into effect in November, empowering WHO’s director-general to declare health emergencies or crises in any nation. The WHO leader can do so unilaterally silencing the opposition of the target nation.

If adopted as expected, the adjusted rules will give the WHO emergency powers over Israel and any country they choose, Feiglin suggested. “The actual decision will be far more extreme in removing the rights of the individuals,” he warned.

Feiglin argued, “This decision has nothing to do with world health… It is clear that it deals exclusively with the transfer of power. It sidesteps entirely any democratic process,” the politician added.

It remained doubtful Friday that Israel would walk away from the U.S.-backed WHO deal.
