MOSCOW/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – The daughter of a prominent ultra-nationalist philosopher and ally of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has been killed in a car bombing near Moscow, investigators said Sunday.

Darya Dugina, who died late Saturday, was the daughter of Alexander Dugin, a close Putin ally seeking Russia’s control over Ukraine.

Described by investigators as journalists and political experts, Dugina, 29, publicly backed her father’s position.

She also expressed support for Russia’s intervention in Ukraine on state television.

Her father was placed on a U.S. sanctions list against Russia. Dugin, known as “Putin’s brain,” may have been the intended target of the attack, observers said.

Yet Ukraine, facing a Russian invasion, has denied involvement in the attack. “Ukraine, of course, has nothing to do with this because we are not a criminal state, which is the Russian Federation, and even less a terrorist state,” stressed Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Investigators explained that Dugina, who was driving the car, died at the scene near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemy.

Footage showed her father watching in shock as emergency services arrived at the scene of the burning wreck of the vehicle.

The attack also showed growing pressure on the inner circle of Russia’s president, who faces increasing pressure over Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
