JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – The health ministry in Gaza, which is under the control of Hamas, reported on Monday that 436 people had been killed in the previous 24 hours. These casualties occurred as Israeli airstrikes continued in the aftermath of what has been described as one of the worst atrocities against Jewish people since the Holocaust. In Israel, the terrorist attack committed by Hamas on October 7 is now referred to as “Black Sabbath.”

Israel says it’s targeting infrastructure, including tunnels of Hamas, the group it designated as a “terrorist organization” which killed more than 1,400 people on Israeli soil since October 7.

Among the victims were also toddlers and babies, according to Israeli witnesses and footage seen by Worthy News. Many young and older adults were killed in different communities, in the streets, and at a music festival, several sources confirmed.

Israel’s army says that in response, it stepped up air strikes, hitting some 320 suspected Hamas targets in a day.

Despite the dangers, Israeli troops also launched limited ground raids into Gaza to find information about more than 200 hostages being held. Over the weekend, at least one soldier was killed, and three other troops were injured in a Gaza operation, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed.

As fighting continues, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees says the situation in southern Gaza is worsening, prompting some civilians to return north after Israel told them to flee south.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry says more than 5,000 people have been killed since Israel began bombing the territory in response to attacks “flattening” entire neighborhoods.

Israel has denied it deliberately targets civilian sites but says Hamas has been hiding its fighters and weapons at locations such as schools, hospitals, and mosques. The Israeli government has accused Hamas of using residents and hostages as “human shields” in what it views as a Hamas-provoked war.
