(Worthy News) – According to the most recent Israel Channel 12 poll, the coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu, which secured 64 seats in last November’s elections, would plummet to just 45 seats in the 120-member Knesset if elections were held today. Conversely, the anti-Netanyahu “change” parties would surge to 70 seats, with the Hadash-Taal alliance claiming the remaining five.

The survey revealed that the true victor would be Benny Gantz’s National Unity party, projected to win 36 seats, surpassing Netanyahu’s Likud, which was estimated to secure just 17 seats.

The network acknowledged the unusual timing of conducting an election poll in the midst of a war, however the poll did note the unusual lack of a boost for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Usually, leaders experience a popularity boost during wartime, however this poll indicated the opposite effect.

The poll results indicated the change in government if elections were held today. The results were listed as follows (with current seats in parentheses): Gantz’s National Unity Party 36 seats (12); Netanyahu’s Likud 17 (32); Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid 15 (24); Shas 10 (11); Yisrael Beytenu 9 (6); United Torah Judaism 7 (7); Otzmah Yehudit 7 (14 as part of an alliance with Religious Zionism); Hadash-Taal 5 (5); Meretz 5 (0); Ra’am 5 (5); and Religious Zionism 4. (Labor, which won 4 seats last November, was projected to win no seats.)

The Israeli Channel 12 poll, conducted yesterday, surveyed 502 respondents with a margin of error of 4.4%. The pollster for this survey was Mano Geva and Midgam.

With the recent publication of the Channel 12 poll, the stability of the existing Netanyahu government’s in the midst of a war remains uncertain. Israel’s political landscape has been marked by instability with five elections over the past four years.
