(Worthy News) – A US-based international prison ministry is set to hand-deliver a gift pack and the Gospel to 65,000 prisoners around the world this Christmas, CBN News reports. Good News Global will be delivering its “Hope Packs” to male and female prisoners across 16 US states and 18 other countries during the Christmas season.

Formerly Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, Good News Global is based in Virginia but is the largest independent supplier of chaplains for prisons worldwide. “Good News brings the hope of Jesus Christ”, the ministry explains in a website statement. “With teams of chaplains, we are engaging those behind bars through worship services, Bible studies, counseling and discipleship.

“Thousands of people place their faith in Christ for the first time every month,” Good News attests. “Many of these new believers will grow in their faith while behind bars and return to their communities changed forever by the power of the Gospel,” the ministry says. Good News now has 400 chaplains in 22 US states and 25 countries worldwide.

Starting with just 500, Good News began delivering Hope Packs during what for many is the loneliest time of year in 2021, CBN reports. This year’s Hope Packs include a Christmas gift, card, 2024 calendar, food, hygiene items, and the Gospel message.

“Hope Packs represent our greatest direct gospel outreach to incarcerated persons ever, Jon Evans, president of Good News Global, told CBN. “This Christmas, we will put the Gospel message in the hands of 65,000 receptive inmates. We believe that everyone has inherent worth in the eyes of God, and providing Hope Packs is a practical and tangible way to demonstrate that,” Evans said.
