(Worthy News) – The Fellowship of Christian Athletes US ministry group has announced it recorded 51,730 faith decisions for Christ at events it held in the 2023 fiscal year from September 2022 to August 2023, the Christian Post (CP) reports. Founded in Oklahoma in 1954, the FCA’s stated vision is to “see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.”

The FCA explained to the Christian Post that it was able to count the number of faith decisions recorded this fiscal year by using a “Faith Response Tool, a texting system that allows FCA staff, coaches and athletes to share decisions of faith in Christ.

“This system provides FCA with the opportunity to not only get an idea of their impact around the globe, but also allows for an initial contact between the organization and each young follower of Christ,” the FCA said.

The decisions recorded were made by young athletes and others, including coaches and volunteers, the FCA told the Christian Post. FCA staff then follow up the person who has made the decision, ensuring they receive support, have a Bible, and are connected to a church community.

In a separate statement, FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson reflected: “The best gift we can give and receive at Christmas is the gift of Christ, who came to Earth to save us and offer us all the free gift of salvation.”
