(Worthy News) – Newly appointed Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated at his first meeting with the IDF General Staff Forum that Iran’s nuclear sites have become more vulnerable following Israel’s recent airstrikes in the operation “Days of Repentance” and hinted that now is the time to remove the Iranian ‘threat of annihilation.’

Katz emphasized the superiority of the Israeli Air Force over Iran’s advanced air defenses, citing two successful counter-attacks this year following significant Iranian attacks on Israel.

“There is an opportunity to achieve the most important goal – to thwart and remove the threat of destruction hanging over the State of Israel…Today, there is a broad national and defense establishment consensus that we need to thwart the Iranian nuclear program, and there is an understanding that this is doable – not only on the security front, but also on the diplomatic front,” Katz said.

“Iran today is more exposed than ever to damage to its nuclear facilities. There is a possibility to achieve the most important goal, to thwart and remove the threat of annihilation from hanging over the State of Israel,” Katz stated.

Regarding Lebanon, Katz declared, “there will be no ceasefire and there will be no respite [for Hezbollah] until the goals of the war are achieved.”

Katz emphasized that a top priority is the return of hostages. “We will do everything to bring them home and ensure the defeat of Hamas,” he added.

Shortly after the conclusion of the Hebrew Feast of Tabernacles, on the early morning of Saturday, October 26, Israel initiated its most extensive military operation against Iran to date, code named “Days of Repentance.” This operation saw over 100 combat aircraft cover a distance of more than 1,200 miles (2,000 km) to strike around 20 military sites, including missile, drone, and radar installations.
