(Worthy News) – Newly appointed Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar set the tone for his foreign policy stating that the prospect of a Palestinian State created today “would be tantamount to creating a Hamas state.”

At a press conference following his recent appointment, new Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar emphasized the Iranian threat remained Israel’s top priority. He stressed, “The most crucial issue for the future of our region and the security of Israel is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.”

Saar cautioned that a nuclear Iran represents a danger to the entire region, not just Israel, pointing out that the Iranian regime finances and supports terrorist organizations, some of which, he said, function as “real terrorist states.”

His remarks echo Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s description of Iran as the head of the ‘axis of evil.’

When discussing the possibility of a Palestinian state, Saar was clear in his rejection, simply stating, “In a word: no.” He referenced past efforts such as the Oslo Accords and the unilateral withdrawal from Gaza as examples that, in his view, failed to bring peace and instead jeopardized Israel’s security. He firmly concluded, “Creating a Palestinian state today would be tantamount to creating a Hamas state.”

Regarding Lebanon, Saar recognized progress in negotiations but set firm prerequisites: “We will only be able to move forward when Hezbollah has withdrawn north of the Litani and can no longer rearm via Syria, sea or air.”

He also declared, “Lebanon belongs to the Lebanese, not to Iran,” emphasizing that the majority of Lebanese are opposed to Iran’s influence over their country.
