White House mulling military options against Iran ranging from cyberattacks to war

by Jordan Hilger, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – A White House meeting Friday will see Pentagon officials present President Trump with “a broad range of military options” targeting Iran, AP reports.

The options could be as little as a cyber attack comparable to the US’s response in June to Iran downing one of its drones or as much as a full-scale escalation with strikes inside Iran, which the Islamic Republic said this week would invariably lead to “all-out war.”

“He’ll make a decision about next steps,” said Vice President Mike Pence. “The American People can be confident that the United States of America is going to defend our interest in the region, and we’re going to stand with our allies.”

A forensic team with US Central Command is currently analyzing remains from the site of the Abqaiq oil facility in Saudi Arabia that was attacked by a mixture of drones and cruise missiles Saturday to determine the scope of Iranian involvement, which the Saudis said Wednesday was certain.

General Yahya Rahim-Safavi, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, promised an Iranian response “from the Mediterranean, to the Red Sea, and to the Indian Ocean” should the US decide to help Saudi Arabia by going on the offensive.
