Poll finds 61% of all Evangelicals plan to vote for Trump

(Worthy News) – A new poll has found that an overall 61% of Evangelicals plan to vote for President Donald Trump in the November 3 presidential election, Christian Headlines reports. According to the LifeWay Research survey, White Evangelicals plan to vote for Trump by a massive7 to 1 ratio for every 10 voters, while Black Evangelicals plan to vote for Joe Biden by the same landslide ratio.

The poll found that 2 out of 3 Evangelicals who are of neither white nor black ethnicities plan to vote for Trump.
Among Evangelicals who attend church at least once a month, 46% said they will vote for Trump while 45% plan to vote for Biden.

Some 60% of White regular churchgoers plan to vote for Trump while 8 out of 10 Black regular churchgoers will vote for Biden. Six out of ten Hispanic regular churchgoers will vote for Trump.

In a statement about the results, LifeWay Research Executive Director Scott McConnell executive director of said in a statement: “Different ethnic groups are more attuned to specific failures of our country and of specific candidates. One’s ethnicity and political party are more powerful in predicting the vote of someone with evangelical beliefs than their shared religious convictions alone.”
