Iran: assassinated nuclear scientist almost impossible to replace; Iranian-backed Hezbollah leader reportedly fears he may be targeted next

(Worthy News) – A former head of Israel’s military intelligence service has said it will be almost impossible for Iran to replace top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was assassinated Friday in an operation attributed to Israeli spy agency Mossad, World Israel News reports. Moreover, Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Lebanon-based Iranian terror proxy Hezbollah, has reportedly gone underground out of concern he may be targeted next.
Speaking about the killing of Fakhrizadeh during a MediaCentral virtual conference, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Amos Yadlin said: “There is no doubt that [Fakhrizadeh] was the core source of authority, knowledge, and organization of this [nuclear] program.”
Yadlin went on to say that the assassination has caused “huge” damage to Iran’s “covert weaponization program,” WIN reports. However, Yadlin cautioned, the extent of the damage cannot be properly quantified “since nobody knows exactly the scope and depth and what the Iranians are doing.”
The assassination has reportedly also caused Hezbollah chief Nasrallah to go into hiding for fear he may be killed next, WIN said. Nasrallah is understood to have canceled all his “movements” for the time being.
Meanwhile, Israeli embassies and Jewish institutions around the world are bracing for possible Iranian retaliation and have been placed on high alert, WIN reports.
Israel’s defense establishment is also understood to have been warned there may be attacks on Israeli tourists visiting the United Arab Emirates.
