(Worthy News) – A group of truck drivers, supporters of former President Donald Trump, have vowed to boycott New York City as a form of protest against the civil fraud ruling. The verdict imposed a fine exceeding $450 million on Trump and suspended his business operations within the state for three years, it was announced on Friday.

This development follows the outcome where Donald Trump was prohibited from managing his business ventures in New York for three years and held responsible for damages of $453.5 million in fines, penalties, and interest. This verdict is a result of the civil fraud lawsuit initiated by New York Attorney General Letitia James against Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization.

Following the court’s decision, a truck driver who supports Trump, identified online as “Chicago Ray,” uploaded a video to X. In it, he communicated that he and several fellow drivers are opting out of delivery assignments to New York City as a reaction to the verdict issued by Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron.

“I’ve been on the radio talking to drivers for about the last… hour and 15 minutes…  I’ve talked to at least ten drivers… they’re going to start refusing loads to New York City starting on Monday,” Ray said.

By Sunday morning, Ray’s post had over 5.4 million views and received upwards of 54,000 likes.

Truck drivers are responsible for transporting between 70% to 73% of all freight across the United States, and any significant boycott could severely impact a Democrat-run city that faces the daunting task of providing for tens of thousands of migrants who have reached its borders.

In just the past two years, the city has seen an influx of over 170,000 migrants. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has emphasized the significant financial burden this crisis has placed on the city, with costs estimated at a staggering $4.6 billion, leading him to seek further financial assistance from the state.

Trump spoke out against the ruling on Friday, saying, “I paid approximately $300 million dollars in taxes as the migrants come in and take over New York, and they want me out. These are radical left democrats, they are lunatics. Its election interference.”
