(Worthy News) – US President Donald Trump delivered a blunt ultimatum to Iran on Wednesday, warning that Tehran must either dismantle its nuclear facilities peacefully or brace for a forceful response.

In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump was asked whether the US has given Iran a choice between surrendering its nuclear centrifuges and uranium or “get bombed.” Trump responded, “It’s that simple.”

“I would much prefer a strong, verified deal where we actually blow them up… or just de-nuke them,” Trump said, referencing Iran’s nuclear centrifuges. “There are only two alternatives there — blow them up nicely or blow them up viciously.”

The comments come amid ongoing nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran. Three rounds of talks have already taken place, mediated by Oman and involving Trump’s special Mideast envoy, Steve Witkoff. A planned fourth round of talks was postponed without a new date announced.

A US official told Axios that the previous talks were “positive and productive,” adding, “There is still much to do, but further progress was made on getting to a deal.”

Earlier this week, Trump told NBC News that only the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program would be acceptable to him. “Total dismantlement. Yes, that is all I would accept,” he stated, adding, “I want Iran to be really successful, really great, really fantastic. The only thing they can’t have is a nuclear weapon.”

Vice President JD Vance echoed Trump’s hardline stance on Wednesday, telling reporters at the Munich Leaders Conference, “We’re on the right pathway. But this is going to end somewhere, and it will end either in Iran eliminating its nuclear weapons program.”

Vance continued, “We don’t care if people want nuclear power, we’re fine with that, but you can’t have the kind of enrichment program that allows you to get to a nuclear weapon, and that’s where we draw the line.”

Trump, who withdrew the US from the Obama-era Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018, has since sought a new agreement that would prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Addressing the potential outcomes of the ongoing negotiations, Vance stated, “As the President has said, that’s Option A and Option B — if Option A is very good for the Iranian people, Option B is very bad. But it’s better than Option C, which is Iran getting a nuclear weapon.”

Iranian leaders maintain that their nuclear program is intended solely for civilian use, a claim that US officials have repeatedly rejected.

“You know, civilian energy often leads to military wars,” Trump said Sunday. “And we don’t want them to have a nuclear weapon.”
