Washington D.C. (Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet at the White House on Friday to discuss what both sides have described as a “Mega Deal” to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses — potentially including U.S. Tomahawk cruise missiles capable of striking deep inside Russia.

The high-stakes meeting follows two phone calls between the leaders over the weekend, in which they discussed Ukraine’s urgent need for long-range strike capabilities and energy resilience amid intensified Russian attacks.

“This will be the fifth meeting between President Trump and President Zelensky since January,” the Kyiv Independent noted. Their last encounter took place in September on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.

Zelensky confirmed that his prime minister, Yuliia Svyrydenko, and senior aides Andriy Yermak and Rustem Umerov are already in Washington for preparatory talks with U.S. officials and defense companies. “We need to discuss the sequence of steps that I want to propose to President Trump,” Zelensky said Monday.

He added that his delegation is seeking additional HIMARS rocket systems and modern air defense platforms as part of the broader “Mega Deal.”

Tomahawk Missiles on the Table

According to The Telegraph, Trump is considering supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles — a move that would mark a sharp escalation in U.S. support and signal a tougher stance toward Moscow.

“I might say, look, if this war’s not going to get settled, I’m going to send them Tomahawks,” Trump said aboard Air Force One on Sunday. “Do they want to have Tomahawks going in their direction? I don’t think so.”

Zelensky confirmed that long-range missiles will be among the main topics discussed. “The main topics will be air defense and our long-range capabilities, to maintain pressure on Russia,” he said, adding that the weapons could “bring Putin to the negotiating table.”

The potential delivery of Tomahawks, which can strike targets up to 1,500 miles away, has drawn warnings from Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the move would “sever relations” between the U.S. and Russia, calling it “a new step of aggression.”

From Gaza to Kyiv

The White House meeting follows a whirlwind week of diplomacy for Trump, who has been hailed internationally for brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and overseeing the release of 20 Israeli hostages.

Fresh from his Middle East peace tour, Trump told Israel’s Knesset that his next priority was to “focus on Russia first.” After signing the Gaza peace accord in Sharm el-Sheikh, the U.S. president said he would now turn his attention to “ending the war in Ukraine.”

Zelensky welcomed the development, writing on social media that Trump’s peace efforts in the Middle East “bring more hope” for Ukraine. “Putin can be forced to make peace — like any other terrorist,” he said. “Even Hamas released hostages. If this is possible, then Putin can also be forced to restore peace.”

Ukrainian officials say their Washington mission this week will include high-level meetings with members of Congress, defense contractors, and energy companies.

“The leadership and determination of global actors can certainly work for us, too,” Zelensky said.
