WASHINGTON/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald Trump arrived at Dover Air Force Base in the U.S. state of Delaware on Saturday to receive the remains of six American soldiers killed during the first days of combat operations linked to U.S. strikes on Iran, as tensions across the Middle East continued to escalate.

The White House said Trump planned to pay respects to the fallen service members after their bodies were returned to the United States.

The development came as shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil routes, was reported to be nearly halted amid the conflict.

Officials said Qatar was offering preferential customs rates to shipping companies willing to transport merchandise via a fast-tracked land route through Saudi Arabia, as regional supply chains face disruption.

ENERGY AND SECURITY CONCERNS

Kuwait said it had reduced oil and refinery production following the slowdown of shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, global liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices surged amid fears that Gulf supply routes could be disrupted.

The U.S. State Department said more than 28,000 Americans have left the Middle East since the conflict began as Washington expanded evacuation efforts across the region.

Security tensions also intensified after Iran-linked forces reportedly targeted a U.S. military base in Bahrain, following strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island desalination plant.

The United Arab Emirates said its air defenses responded to Iranian missiles and drones during overnight attacks.

REGIONAL TENSIONS RISE

Iranian officials indicated that a new supreme leader could be selected within 24 hours, suggesting a potentially major shift in the country’s leadership amid the crisis.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi movement warned it could launch military action, while Turkey was reported to be preparing F-16 deployments to northern Cyprus as regional powers reposition forces.

The developments underscore the widening geopolitical fallout from the confrontation involving Iran, the United States, and their regional allies, raising fears that the conflict could expand further across the Middle East.
