(Worthy News) – Israeli forces struck more than 30 Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites across Southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Israel Defense Forces said Monday morning, as the Iranian-backed group continued attacks on Israeli troops and border communities.

According to the IDF, the targets included weapons storage facilities, observation posts, and other infrastructure used by Hezbollah to plan attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. The military said several Hezbollah terrorists were killed in precision strikes.

The latest operations came as Hezbollah launched several projectiles at IDF soldiers operating in southeastern Lebanon on Monday afternoon, triggering air-raid sirens in Metula and Kiryat Shmona. Some of the projectiles crossed into Israeli territory, where they were either intercepted or landed in open areas. No injuries were reported.

Farther west, an explosive Hezbollah drone crashed inside Israel near the Lebanese border, with shrapnel discovered in Moshav Shomera, the IDF said.

The renewed fire followed a deadly weekend for Israeli forces. An Israeli soldier was severely wounded overnight Saturday when an explosive device detonated in Southern Lebanon. In the same incident, an officer was moderately wounded, while another officer and an enlisted soldier were lightly wounded.

On Sunday, the Israeli Air Force intercepted a suspicious aerial target in an area where IDF troops are operating in Southern Lebanon. In a separate incident, another aerial target struck near Israeli forces in southeastern Lebanon after sirens sounded in the Misgav Am area of the Galilee Panhandle. No injuries were reported.

Israel has intensified operations against Hezbollah after accusing the terrorist organization of repeatedly violating the U.S.-brokered Nov. 27, 2024, truce agreement. Jerusalem launched a broader aerial campaign and ordered the IDF to seize additional areas in Southern Lebanon to stop cross-border attacks.

Israel and Lebanon later agreed to a 10-day ceasefire on April 16 following mediation by President Donald Trump. The truce was extended for three weeks after direct talks in Washington, D.C., and then extended again for another 45 days after a third round of talks.

However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah on April 26 of “essentially disintegrating” the ceasefire through continued attacks.

“Therefore, as far as we are concerned, what obligates us is the security of Israel, the security of our soldiers, and the security of our communities,” Netanyahu said. “We are acting vigorously according to the rules we agreed upon with the United States, and incidentally, with Lebanon as well.”
