U.S. sanctions North Korean missile experts, Russia offers to mediate

(Worthy News) - The United States announced sanctions on two North Korean officials behind their country’s ballistic missile program on Tuesday, while Russia reiterated an offer to mediate to ease tensions between Washington and Pyongyang.

The new U.S. steps were the latest in a campaign aimed at forcing North Korea - which has defied years of multilateral and bilateral sanctions - to abandon a weapons program aimed at developing nuclear-tipped missiles capable of hitting the United States.

The U.S. Treasury named the officials as Kim Jong Sik and Ri Pyong Chol. It said Kim was reportedly a key figure in North Korea’s efforts to switch its missile program from liquid to solid fuel, while Ri was reported to be a key official in its intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) development. 1 thought on “U.S. sanctions North Korean missile experts, Russia offers to mediate

  1. It's a tongue in cheek, offer. That of Russia offering to mediate on this issue
of the USA sanctioning individuals in NKorea instead of just the nation itself.

That's one of the major reasons for the angst between the USA and Putin now, because the US started that practice first on Russia and much of the discord between Putin and the USA (caused by Obama) has to do with their Duma exacting revenge laws based on that percieved insult to their leaders and Russia itself. It was later compounded by Obama's open attempt to bully Putin and Russia (whose values are controlled by the Russian Orthodox Church) into accepting homosexuality openly at the Russian Olympic Games.

The USA, via President Obama, more than insulted Russian values, the USA allowed Obama to humiliate Putin and the rest of their leaders, to the whole world. Russian's know a bully when they see one. The mystery is why Obama did it. He had to have known what he was doing and that Russia was not yet close enough to leap that far in their tolerance for gay displays.

The rest is history, Russian internet meddling, setting the next wave of US hopeful politicians up, whomever they may be, hacking, Kaspersky, close encounters with Russian planes in Alaska, Russian ships over US Arctic waters, there's more we don't even know, because Russia is able.

Russia is making a statement with this offer, and it's not to actually help the USA. Russians know exactly what it's for and about. It's to show the USA how stupid it is to play that game with dangerous nations and what the consequences may result. NKorea is on speaking terms with Russia. It's not with the USA anymore.
