Egypt: Sinai will never be part of Trump administration’s peace plan
(Worthy News) – The Sinai Peninsula “will never be part of the ‘opportunity of the century'” peace proposal drawn by the Trump administration, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi told White House envoy Jared Kushner in talks on Thursday, Arab media reported.
Kushner is visiting the region to rally support for the administration’s efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. US President Donald Trump’s administration has not endorsed a two-state solution, which has long been seen internationally as the only viable path to peace.
On Thursday, Egypt issued a statement that el-Sissi had told Kushner that Egypt supported efforts aimed at resolving the conflict “on the basis of a two-state solution and the creation of Palestinian State with east Jerusalem as its capital.” [ Source: Israel Hayom (Read More…) ]
