(Worthy News) – Islamic State claimed responsibility for the London Bridge attack last week that has temporarily suspended campaigning for the British election.
The Amaq news agency that broadcasts the group’s propaganda claimed the assailants were British residents trained in Islamic State warfare and that the attack was a reprisal for British military intervention abroad.
A special unit of the British police on Friday shot a man near London Bridge who was wearing a fake suicide vest, killing him only after he had stabbed two people to death and wounded three others.
The attack follows on the heels of another Islamist rampage in 2017 in which men in a van plowed down civilians on London Bridge, killing 9.
