Trump tips off Putin to terrorist plot on Russian soil

(Worthy News) – US intelligence helped Russia foil “acts of terrorism” on its own soil, as Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked US President Trump in a phone call Sunday.

Two Russian nationals were arrested in connection with a plot against mass gatherings in St. Petersburg over the New Year holiday that mirrored a planned attack in 2017 in the same city.

US intelligence tipped off Russian security in that instance too, averting the crisis and drawing thanks from Russian President Putin, who recently invited Trump to Victory Day celebrations in Moscow.

Putin’s chief spokesperson said in December that individual relations between Trump and the Russian President were “very warm,” in spite of bilateral relations between the US and Russia remaining “harsh and cold.”
