Group of Pastors in Cuba share Gospel through face masks

by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – A group of pastors in Cuba is sharing the gospel message during the coronavirus pandemic by having Scriptures written on face masks to wear and give out as they minister. Fox News learned of this outreach from Vernon Brewer, the CEO and founder of the World Help Christian humanitarian aid organization.

A country of 11 million people and heavily dependent on tourism, Cuba has been devastated economically. Brewer told Fox News of one man who had waited in line for two hours at a store and only managed to get a can of sardines.

In the midst of this crisis, the group of pastors determined to reach out with the Gospel. The pastors told Brewer: “We don’t want to miss an opportunity to continue witnessing for the Lord.”

The pastors bought 1000 face masks and had different ones printed with two Bible verses in Spanish: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) and “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household (Acts 16:31).”
“Now, each person wearing them will share the gospel to those who are looking for help spiritually – without even saying a word!” Brewer said. “What an incredible witness. Their faith reminds us that, even when everything seems to be going wrong, God is still at work and we can put our hope in him.”
