(Worthy News) – The secretary of the Atheists in Kenya Society (AIK) has resigned his position after coming to faith in Jesus Christ, Tuko Kenya reports. Seth Mahiga had served as secretary of the society for 18 months before resigning on May 29.

In a video that was taken during a church service, and then shown on Elevate Television, Mahiga said he had been drawn to Christ while going through a difficult time, Tuko reports. Mahiga stated he had found Jesus Christ and no longer wanted to promote atheism.

“Some of these fine days, I have been going through some difficulties in life, then I decided to resign as the secretary,” said Mahiga to applause from the congregation.

Mahiga added that he was happy to be in the house of the Lord and to live by His ways, Tuko reports.

In a statement Saturday, AIK president Harrison Mumia thanked Mahiga for his service with the society and wished him well in his relationship with Christ. “We wish Seth all the best in his newfound relationship with Jesus Christ, we thank him for having served the society with dedication over the last one and half years,” Mumia said.
