IDF chief calls return to Iran nuclear deal ‘dangerous’ at Pentagon meetings
(Worthy News) – Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi said during a visit to the Pentagon that a U.S. return to the Iran nuclear deal would be “dangerous” and that all options should be exhausted to prevent the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear military capabilities, the Israeli military said in a statement Monday.
In his first official visit to the United States as head of the military, Kochavi reportedly met with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and U.S. Army Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss various issues, among them the situation in the Gaza Strip, the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program and replenishing Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system which was depleted during last month’s 11-day conflict with Gaza terrorist factions.
The Biden administration has pledged to present to the U.S. Congress a budget request to replenish Iron Dome. [ Source: Ynet News (Read More…) ]
