Iran Warns of the Expansion of Israel-Hamas war is ‘inevitable’

(Worthy News) – Iran warned that the extensive civilian suffering resulting from Israel’s conflict with Hamas would inevitably lead to an escalation of war in the Middle East.  Officials in Gaza are reporting heavy fighting in and around area hospitals where Israel claims Hamas has established a terror base in an underground tunnel network.

“Due to the expansion of the intensity of the war against Gaza’s civilian residents, expansion of the scope of the war has become inevitable,” Amir-Abdollahian told his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Thursday night, according to Iran’s state-run Press TV.

BATTLES INTENSIFY AROUND GAZA HOSPITALS

On Friday, the latest reports indicated intense battles taking place around Al-Rantisi Hospital in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, a location that Israel designates as the main headquarters of the terrorist organization Hamas.

“The Israeli occupation launched simultaneous strikes on a number of hospitals during the past hours,” Gaza Ministry of Health spokesman Ashraf Al-Qidra told Al Jazeera television.

Israeli military leaders have indicated that the process of clearing Gaza of Hamas could span weeks or even months. With each passing day, there is an escalating risk of drawing Iran and its proxies, including Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militia groups in Syria and Iraq, into a full-blown war.

“This entire city is one big terror base. There are kilometers of tunnels underground. They connect to hospitals, to schools. They are connected to each other. They have communication rooms, ammunition depots, places to sleep in order to serve as a base of terrorism from which the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF soldiers can be harmed,” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Wednesday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) asserts that Hamas is exploiting civilian population centers for its terrorist activities.  “While the world sees neighborhoods with schools, hospitals, scout groups, children’s playgrounds, and mosques, Hamas sees an opportunity to exploit,” the IDF said in a statement.

Over the past week, the IDF has released several videos presenting evidence supporting their assertion that Hamas employs civilian population centers as human shields.
