Environmentalists, Pro-Abortionists May Benefit from Clinton’s Final Act

(AgapePress) – It appears President Clinton is going to spend his final weeks in office pushing through regulations which do not need Congressional approval. Many of them are aimed at appeasing traditional Democratic support groups such as environmentalists and pro-abortionists.
According to The Washington Post, the White House is moving aggressively to take executive actions that could regulate a wide range of activities long after Clinton leaves office.
The President has already signed more than 450 Executive Orders and proclamations. Among them are his designations of national monuments–particularly in the West, where residents and politicians have protested the move, calling them unwarranted intrusions into land policy decisions.
Yesterday, GOP Vice Presidential hopeful Dick Cheney said some of Clinton’s monument designations may be reversed if the Republicans win the White House in November.
The Post reports Clinton is also pushing for approval of the abortion pill RU-486 before he leaves office. George W. Bush has said he would not be inclined to accept FDA approval of any abortion-inducing drugs.
